Multidisciplinary Training Experience in Nuclear Science Program (Mt. ENS)

Mt. ENS is a partnership between LLNL and San José State University (SJSU) to bring new education and research opportunities to participating students.

The Mt. ENS program provides SJSU students with a unique opportunity to learn nuclear science during their spring semester, and then conduct exciting nuclear science research based at the Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry.

Through the program, students:

  • Take an introductory nuclear science course at SJSU during the spring semester to contextualize current research efforts and capabilities at LLNL
  • Work with other students and LLNL mentors on a common nuclear science project
  • Gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of nuclear science
  • Become familiar with world-class laboratories and capabilities
